About This Product
This printable learning activity offers a clear, visual exploration of how moving bodies of water and towering landforms shape the African continent from north to south. Students will discover famous waterways, including the Nile River flowing through northeastern Africa to support farms and cities, the Congo River moving through central rainforests, the Niger River supporting West African communities, and the Zambezi River linked to Victoria Falls. The passage also explores prominent African mountain ranges, including Mount Kilimanjaro in East Africa, the Atlas Mountains in North Africa, and the Drakensberg Mountains in Southern Africa. Learners will examine how high mountain slopes feature cooler air, forests, and grasslands, how they collect rainfall to send water down into rivers, and why communities and wildlife rely on healthy river and mountain ecosystems. Structured comprehension questions reinforce main ideas, context clues, inferences, and critical thinking skills.
